Susan Hall AM has been re-elected as Leader of the City Hall Conservatives, returning to City Hall to hold Sir Sadiq Khan to account after a strong set of London local election results for the Conservative Party.
Hall was joined by Thomas Turrell AM, re-elected as Whip, and Emma Best AM, re-elected as Deputy Leader, in forming a united leadership ready to take the fight to a Labour administration that has presided over soaring crime, a housing crisis of its own making, and economic mismanagement on a spectacular scale for the last decade.
Speaking after her re-election, Susan Hall said:
"For ten years now, Sadiq Khan has failed Londoners and let us down - be it on crime, housing, transport and more. Out of his failure, self-invented-CV Zack Polanski is hoping to fill the gap with a new breed of politics that is not only fantasy, but dangerous. I am vowing now as Leader of the City Hall Conservatives to fight for sensible politics that are sound with people’s money, people’s opportunities, and people’s safety. Sadiq and Zack are on notice that I am not going to allow their nonsense to fly whilst I’m at the helm. As politics enters a new fractious era with dangerous consequences for getting it wrong, the City Hall Conservatives at City Hall will be representing the Londoners who want to improve our city and who know that promising the moon or fiddling the figures isn’t going to deliver that.”
While Khan and the hard-left circles at the City Hall push ideological vanity projects, Hall's team will keep asking the questions that matter to ordinary Londoners, be it on policing, on transport, on the cost of living, and on a Mayor who thinks the job is a platform rather than a responsibility.
The fight for London continues this morning.
